ACI: ANIMAL CRUELTY INVESTIGATIONS – Bull Fighting In LA?

A Bull Fighting Ring In LA?  It’s No Joke!

Farm animals are living creatures entitled to legal protection and  ethical consideration.  This includes bulls! ACI is a registered Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.  The non-profit 501 (c) (3) group is dedicated to protecting sick, healthy, and injured farm animals.  The investigation arm now has officers in the field handling animal cruelty complaints.   Officers get enforcement via California Corporation Code 14502 with the same powers as a peace officer when investigating animal-related crimes.  Lately they have been busting bull fighting rings in Los Angeles.  In May a bull fighting ring in Artesia, California was busted when ACI Humane Officer “Andrew” discovered bulls being stabbed with hidden spikes.  He went into the ring, broke it up and arrested the participants.  A week later a  bullfight was held in Thornton, California.  ACI now considers bullfighting an ongoing state- wide activity and have increased efforts to stop this illegal and extended abuse taking place to packed audiences.  Although the bull fights are advertised as BLOODLESS, the truth is, bandoleras that are supposed to attach to the animal using Velcro have a razor sharp nail imbedded that stabs the bulls hide through to the flesh.  The bull fighting appears to be an organized practice and constitutes a felony/misdemeanor.  Law enforcement is arresting and prosecuting all involved.

Supporters recently came together at a fundraiser to help the ongoing efforts of the ACI.  Jane Garrison, spokesperson for ACI stated, “Animal Cruelty Investigations is committed to taking all possible steps to uncover, expose and prevent further illegal bullfighting in California.  ACI is prepared to make  certain that those who would abuse animals in this fashion are brought to justice.”
