Celebs Launch Groundbreaking Spay & Neuter Low Cost Animals Programs

Groundbreaking initiative developed by the California Spay and Neuter License Plate Fund kicked off at the WLA Animal Shelter with LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, and actors Justin Chambers, Katie Cleary, Andrew Stern, Persia White, Matt Grant and Lacey Conner. The Spay and Neuter Specialty License Plate Program funds free or low-cost spay and neuter surgery programs in California. License plates feature artwork was created and donated by actor and artist Pierce Brosnan. Mayor Villaraigosa and Mr. Brosnan as well as several other high profile special guests were on hand to launch the California Spay and Neuter License Plate Fund and were joined by community and animal health supporters. The California Spay and Neuter License Plate Program both raises awareness concerning the overwhelming number of homeless and unwanted dogs and cats in California and the importance of spaying and neutering pets to save animal lives. The program will fund spay and neuter surgeries through local animal care and control agency voucher programs and through in-house or local veterinary clinics.
